Containment

Overview

 

Containment is a very short narrative game with multiple endings affected by player decisions and actions.

​

You must navigate a government underground facility as a hostile entity roams nearby with your 'trusty' AI companion D.A.V.I.D. Fix electrical panels and divert power to aid your escape and potentially help others do the same. 

 

Your actions dictate if you survive. On Not.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities​​
​​Level Design​
  • Created paper prototypes of major areas, methods of entry and egress.

  • Concepted, designed, and iterated upon various iterations of the golden path.

  • Created level blockouts to highlight sightlines, and overall manoeuvrability. 

  • Placed appropriate dynamic lighting, based on player actions.

Narrative Designer

  • Storyboarded the primary story beats, and optional objectives.​

  • Created various character sheets for unused character, detailing motivations, experiences, actions and personality.

  • Created flow charts, diagrams, and test scripts for player actions and the impact upon the overall experience.

Miscellaneous

  • Optimised various imported textures, assets and coding for purpose.​

  • Used Trello to monitor weekly sprints, maintaining effective time keeping.

  • ​Imported and edited existing 3rd party sounds, textures, models and animations.

  • Ran internal playtesting sessions and iterated upon feedback and responses.​

  • Added optimisations features such as occlusion culling, baked lighting, and animation culling.​​​​​​​​​​​​​
